In a complete reversal of fortune, Paramount spokesperson, Lydia Chase made a surprise announcement yesterday which had both reporters and producers eyes popping out. MacGyver is set to return to prime time television.
Until recently series creator Lee David Zlotoff & Paramount execs have been meeting secretly to discuss a number of show related topics yet no one could have imagined that they were discussing a complete revival.
According to Chase, the new series will be titled, "MacGyver Returns". The show will take place about 25 years after the events of the last series where a now, much older MacGyver, played by Richard Dean Anderson will be recruited back to the Phoenix Foundation from retirement. Details on the shows content are still sketchy but Chase says producers are confident that shooting could occur as early as this summer!
